
EXPERIENCE
An early fascination with the messaging, creativity and craft of advertising led to a never-a-dull-moment career that has included: taking the helm of an agency with two days' notice in the middle of the Credit Crunch (subsequently helping to return it to profitability and gain international acclaim); multiple global activations for DIAGEO’s premium spirits brands; working with Dr Martens on their resurgence, helping Nike popularise running in China and facilitating worldwide digital interactions for Sony PlayStation gamers.
I have been a board member of BIMA (British Interactive Media Association), opened agency offices in Shanghai, collaborated with Alpkit on their continuing expansion, organised Polar Bear dodging photoshoots in the Arctic and had a small hand in launching the career of One Direction (long story).
I’ve spent over 20 years working in some of the UK's leading creative agencies, across advertising, branding, digital and PR – mainly in Manchester, but occasionally in London and Shanghai. I've been the champion of the agency cause and the guardian of the client's interests, gaining invaluable experience working at a senior level with world class brands.
For the past 10 years I have held a Managing Director role. Firstly at LOVE, an internationally renowned full service creative agency, and then at Joe Public, a smaller specialist agency for the outdoor sector.
These board level roles included agency management responsibilities covering business development, business planning, revenue forecasting, staff recruitment and management.
Outside of work, you'll often find me in Snowdonia, either up a mountain or on my bike.
